LIFE IN GENOA
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The Genoa public transport system has several different modalities:
Buses, Subway or metro (metropolitana), Elevator (for the big hills), funicular (a cable railway, also for hills)
It is suggested that you install the Genoa AMT app on your phone to easily find bus schedules and lines.

Tickets
Tickets are required for non-residents or short-term stays (all of our students). Tickets are purchased at most tabaccheria shops.
A standard bus ticket costs 2 euros and is valid for 110 minutes after validation, or being stamped in the orange or yellow machines on the buses or entrance to metro, elevator or funicular stations.
An ‘integrated’ ticket that is valid for local bus transport but also for a regional train within the greater Genoa municipal area, from Genova-Nervi to Genova-Voltri, costs 2.20 euros and is valid for 110 minutes. It is validated on the front for buses and on the reverse side for the train.
A carnet of 11 standard tickets costs 20 euros, a modest savings of 2 euros.
A carnet of ‘integrated’ tickets (bus and train) costs 22 euros.
A monthly pass is available for 48 euros and is valid from the first day until the last day of the month.
UBER
There is no UBER in Genoa. You can download the inTaxi or Your taxi apps to book and pay for taxis.
