The Fall, 2024 Semester in Genoa students 

An opportunity offered by the Office of Education Abroad (OEA) and FIU Global for second-semester Freshmen or Sophomore students to spend a semester in Genoa, Italy. Take FIU Core Curriculum courses (in English) including BUSINESS PRE CORE with local Italian professors at the FIU campus in the medieval convent of S. Maria di Castello, and live in shared apartments in the city.

Alini: Genoa is a lively and charming port city with friendly locals. A total immersion into Italian culture and language, and a flexible itinerary allow you to fully understand European life and grow as an individual. The courses are taught by young Italian professors who care about your education and experience while in Genoa. I would recommend this program to anyone who loves to travel, learn about different cultures, and wants to have an unforgettable (and affordable) experience!

Gin: The quality of education I am receiving from local professors is astounding. I have never been so engaged during lessons or had professors who are so dedicated to their students' learning. I continue to find myself growing in ways I never imagined. Before Genoa I hated going to the grocery store alone. Now thanks to the low prices of the delicious produce and mind-blowing spices, I go the local market by myself all the time. Even the language barrier does not deter me and I actually find myself speaking better Italian every time.

LIVE HERE: wander the streets and alleys, visit local towns and beaches, shop in small, local markets for fresh bread, vegetables, meats and fish, eat local cuisine in small trattorie, visit UNESCO-listed Renaissance palaces, hike the hills above Genoa and see the old city walls and forts....
